A bunch of us in the podfic community wanted to contribute to [livejournal.com profile] halfamoon, so we have made an anthology of ficlets from the Awesome Ladies Ficathon.

The anthology contains 73 stories, from 41 fandoms, performed by 19 readers. The beautiful cover art was designed by [livejournal.com profile] aneas.

Total running time is 3 hours 39 minutes.

It occurs to me that while I have written new fic and done recs and all that sort of thing for [livejournal.com profile] halfamoons past and present, I don't think I've ever catalogued my own female character-focused fic. And, well, that's most of what I write, so it's worth doing, I suppose. This is not an exhaustive list, but it is some of the stuff I'm more fond of. Most of it is a few years old, since life has been intervening in the fic writing during the last year or two.

Alias
A Fairer House than Prose (Irina Derevko, written February 2011)

Battlestar Galactica
The Signs that the Signmakers Made (Laura Roslin, written June 2007)
Eschatos (Laura Roslin and the Opera House women, contains some Roslin/Adama, written January 2008)
Latter Days (Anastasia Dualla and Laura Roslin, written November 2008)
Infinite Regress (The Origin Stories Remix) (Athena, Lord of Kobol, and Pythia, written for [livejournal.com profile] bsg_remix in July 2009)

Farscape
Five Things That Never Happened to Xhalax Sun (written August 2006)
wee untitled Chiana and Moya ficlet (written April 2007)

Lie to Me
Five Things Gillian Foster Has Never Told Anyone (written January 2010)

Stargate: SG-1
Of Belonging to Another (Sam Carter, Vala Mal Doran, and Sarah Gardner, written July 2006)
The Sea with its Deepness (Janet Fraiser, written March 2008)
tielan: (SG - JT hero)
[personal profile] tielan
Assorted fics I've written about female characters in the last year.

SGA crossovers:

with SG1:
Scraps And Scrapings - PG-13
(Sam Carter, Teyla Emmagan)
Her team are gone; all Sam’s left with are scraps and scrapings.

How Not To Eat An Elephant - PG-13
(Teyla Emmagan, Vala Mal Doran)
In which Teyla and Vala play 'Good Cop, Bad Cop' and Cam muses on the unwisdom of biting things that bite back.

with Leverage:
The Making Of Eliot Spencer - PG-13
(Teyla Emmagan, Eliot Spencer)
Eliot Spencer walks into a bar and meets...Teyla Emmagan

with Firefly:
Running Like A River - PG13
(River Tam, Ronon Dex)
Ronon wonders if he hasn't stepped out of the line of fire and into the point of a knife.

A Curse For All Times And Seasons - PG-13
(Teyla Emmagan, Hoburn Washburne)
Teyla walks into a bar and meets...Hoburn Washburn!

--

SGA

Test Drives And Tea - PG-13
(Teyla Emmagan, Sam Carter)
Tea and acceptance between two very different women.

Unanswerable - PG-13
(Teyla Emmagan)
What Teyla was doing during The Return while the expedition was on Earth.

A Gambit Of Queens - NC-17 in parts, but mostly PG-13
(Teyla Emmagan, team, John/Teyla)
After the events of Enemy At The Gates, corpses are being found drained of life and the team must go hunting Wraith all over the planet. But is this just the work of Wraith opportunists, or is it part of a bigger, long-term plan the Wraith have for Earth? And how will Teyla's gift come into play?

--

Sanctuary

Doing It Doggy Style - PG-13
(Kate Freelander)
Helen's looking forward to seeing what plan her newest employee has come up with for getting an abnormal out from under the noses of local security.

--

Merlin

All The Victory She Needs - PG-13
(Guinevere)
As Camelot faces a Frankish invasion, Gwen thinks of her father, long dead and buried, who first told her of a queen who defied an empire.

Hi there! I took advantage of the 30 Days of Female Characters meme that was going around, only I wasn't really up for all 30 days so I wound up combining it into one picspam. If you'd like to check it out, it's here on my journal!

For my first [livejournal.com profile] halfamoon post of the year, I present a picspam from one of my very favorite episodes of anything, ever: Stargate SG-1's Season 9 episode "The Ties that Bind," featuring one Vala Maldoran.

I was going to put in my own snarky commentary, but I couldn't think of anything better than the actual banter from the episode. Enjoy!

Come to see me off? That's sweet. )

Thanks to gateworld for the caps, which I resized and brightened up a little. :)

Okay, I just discovered this comm (through a rec from [livejournal.com profile] stunt_muppet), and I think it is a wonderful thing!

I apparently don't actually write women that much, but I do have three short pieces that I suspect are relevant to this comm's interests. (And I may have ideas for a couple more before submissions close... *makes thinky face*)

Title: Worse Than Ever

Warnings: Well, it's short. And suggests a continuation which does not yet, and may never, exist. Other than that, no warnings.
Spoilers: Nope.
Word count: 375
Author's remarks: As far as I can discover, no one has ever written a meeting between Ducky Mallard of NCIS and Janet Fraiser of the SGC. Except me. Because I really couldn't let such a situation continue. (Posted here because Janet is by nature awesome.)

In honor of [livejournal.com profile] halfamoon, this month's prompt over at [livejournal.com profile] sg_prompts is "woman's work". Hopefully we'll have an entry or three showing just how much the women of the SG world(s) kick ass. *g*

Any and all entries will be able to be found with this tag when created.

Thanks!

disclaimer: They're not mine.
rating: PG for some language, innuendo and mentioned violence.
fandoms: NCIS, Stargates, Buffyverse, Criminal Intent, Touching Evil UK, Bones, Second Sight, Torchwood, Smallville, Dresden Files (tv series), The X-Files, Forever Knight, CSI, Without a Trace. (I think that's everyone)
notes: This was written prior to the end of season five of NCIS, certain portions of season 4 of Stargate: Atlantis, the end of season two of Torchwood, mid-season eight of Buffy, with hazy knowledge of seasons past three of Angel, and mid-season seven of Criminal Intent. (some of the others aren't even in production anymore)
As such, there are spoilers for probably every single one of these, some lesser spoilers than others.
So. I've always had a thing for this sort of thing. And I'm very well aware how very wish fulfillment it is. I don't care.
I figured, after those two lovely multi-fandom vids, I was at least somewhat safe to post this.
This is a direct sequel/expansion of this ficlet written ages ago
