I don't usually rec my own stories, but I wanted to contribute something to this awesome challenge and I only discovered it today! If I'm lucky, I'll be able to write something new and squeeze it in before tomorrow, but just in case I can't, these are a few of the fics I've written that are female-centric.
Some femslash, some not; some old, some from the last few days :)
Reflections (Commander in Chief, Jayne-centric)
Your inner child wants to cry and protest the actions you've taken and the people you side with, but your older self has long since locked down your allegiances. 819 words.-
Inevitable (Firefly, Inara/Nandi)
Nandi smiles in a way that doesn't reach her eyes and lays her fingertips against Inara's cheek. Nandi's touch still makes her skin tingle and Inara steps forward to close the distance between them, her hands resting at Nandi's waist. 2,421 words.-
Unfinished Business (Forever Knight; Natalie, Janette)
Janette places her glass on the table and moves to sit next to Natalie on the couch. It was Natalie's choice to hide her transformation from them but Janette knows from experience that never-ending life can get boring without companionship, and this woman has always intrigued her. 1,000 words.Hiding Out At The Raven (Forever Knight; Natalie, Janette)
Natalie gives her a thoroughly exasperated look, which Janette counters with her best imitation of an innocent smile, sipping her blood wine and waiting patiently. 3,202 words.-
People Only See What They Expect (Harry Potter, Lily/Narcissa *NC-17*)
They aren't good for each other, she and Lily; or rather, Lily's good for her, she's just not so good for Lily. Before her, Lily was the embodiment of red and gold, but now the colours don't suit her -- clash where before they blended -- and yet she isn't anywhere near cold enough, or dark enough, for green and silver. 2,197 words.-
Figuring Out A Path (Hex, Thelma/Cassie, Thelma/Ella)
Ella talks about resurrecting Cassie as though it'll have no impact on either of your lives. As if she doesn't understand what kind of position it automatically puts you in, even though you know that she does; that she must do, has to. 1,372 words.-
Appearances Are Deceiving (Will & Grace, Grace/Karen)
Appearances can be deceiving, and no one understands this better than Karen, who's been deceiving people for longer than she can remember. That 'as long as she can remember' only goes as far back as yesterday has something to do with that, but even if she could remember last week clearly, it wouldn't change her basic belief that she's still right. 1,000 words.Something Like That (Will & Grace, Karen-centric)
Karen would love to pretend she doesn't remember what her childhood was like but, despite the drugs and alcohol, those memories remain persistently clear. 1,728 words.
