I don't write a whole lot of fic, but I've got one story each from Pushing Daisies, Sherlock, and Supernatural. And I’m in the middle of a much longer story about Martha Jones that I was really excited about posting but then I realized the fest will be over before I’m finished editing, so you get these three anyway.

Words: 3.3K

First, a couple of mine: (In my head!canon, all of the women from Sherlock are secretly badass.)

"Hudson's Gang". (PG) Mrs. Hudson and most of the other characters. A short AU story is which Mrs. Hudson is the boss of a criminal organization. ~800 words

"Almost Anyone". (R - WARNINGS for mentions of suicide and rough sex.) Moriarty, Molly Hooper. "The greatest shock of a dead body is how ordinary it looks." And how ordinary it becomes. ~800 words.

More recs: (This is where you discover I'm a huge Molly fangirl and a Molly/Jim shipper, to boot.)

"Home Is Where", by Mad_Maudlin. (PG-13) Molly, Jim. "Home is the place where, when you have to go there,
They have to take you in." ~2,000 words.

"No Surprises", by [livejournal.com profile] rachel2205. (R - references to sex and murder.) Molly Hooper, Moriarty. When Molly discovers the truth about her boyfriend "Jim" she's more intrigued than horrified, and in her search to find him proves herself to be stronger and smarter than anyone thought. ~2,000 words.

Finally, I have to rec the community I co-mod with the lovely Rachel: [livejournal.com profile] sherlockhet. Rachel decided to set it up for me after I wondered to her what a het fan like myself was doing in such a slashy fandom as Sherlock!

There's a lot of great stories about the women in Sherlock posted there, and if you have some you'd like to add, please do! We subscribe to a loose definition of "het", so the barest of connection to co-ed relationships will qualify! Mostly, I'd just be interested to collect more stories about the female characters there, so if you've got a fic about Sally, Molly, Sarah, Mrs. Hudson, Harry, Clara, etc--bring it over!

I've written a number of fics featuring female characters from the BBC Sherlock series:

Harry Watson/Molly Hooper - femslash

Birthday Surprise (Rating 15). In which Molly ends up with an unconscious historian in her bed on her 32nd birthday.

Launch off (Rating 15). In which Harry attempts to stay sober, impress Molly, and survive the launch of her book on an eighteenth-century prostitute.

Sally Donovan/Ella Thompson - a series of short preslash fics about the two characters

PC world (Rating PG)

Straight/Scholar/Smooth (Rating PG)

Other

R v Holmes (2009) (depraved bats) (Rating 15). In which Sherlock needs help from a fast-thinking female barrister after being had up on a sexual harassment charge.

My latest fannish love is Sherlock, but I will be the first to admit--and lament--that the show is one big boys' club. With that in mind, I recommend two fics that address the particularly execrable depiction of Molly Hooper, the meek pathologist treated with disdain by Sherlock and the show alike.

[livejournal.com profile] rosa_acicularis, The Anatomist: This is a completely brilliant and gleefully savage rewriting of Molly within the canon as we have seen it. It turns everything on its head, so that her scenes, which were excruciating to watch, suddenly become almost satisfying. Rarely have I seen a female character so thoroughly reclaimed by fandom. And it's an absorbing and chilling story in its own right. (This is, technically, a WIP, but even if the last part is never posted, what already exists stands well on its own.)

[livejournal.com profile] introductory, that thing you love: And...coming from the other direction entirely, this hilarious little fic has Molly finding love in the arms of the Old Spice Guy. No, I swear, it's actually funny, and not just the mechanical "wackiness" that one so often finds under the label "crack."

"Anything is possible when your man is me and not a sociopathic, homosexual private detective," said Isaiah, grinning widely.

*

I'd love to see recs for other stories that recoup the ladies of Sherlock. It's a seriously uphill battle!
