Reccer's Notes: In early seasons, Beckett Mariner abhors responsibility in any form, flips off authority, and is usually an agent of chaos. This vid captures that so wonderfully! Mariner grows in later seasons and becomes more reliable (if still chaotic), but in the meantime - y'all are in for one hell of a ride!

That's a great insight. I hadn't thought of it before, but you're right - it's rare for a coming-of-age sort of bent to get this sort of focus instead of something romantic (for female characters, I mean).
