Mariner grows in later seasons and becomes more reliable (if still chaotic), but in the meantime - y'all are in for one hell of a ride!

Thanks so much for the rec, this was a lot of fun! And so great to see a female character with this kind of arc, I feel like 'goofy but promising kid learns responsibility' usually ends up with male characters only.

That's a great insight. I hadn't thought of it before, but you're right - it's rare for a coming-of-age sort of bent to get this sort of focus instead of something romantic (for female characters, I mean).
