[personal profile] senmut posting in [community profile] halfamoon
Welcome to 2021's Half A Moon.

We'll start with today's themes:

Reccers - Actresses
Podficcers/Audio Creators - Rare Pairs
Writers - The High Priestess
Artists - Icons

Entire list found Here.

In addition to that, I'll highlight the 3 Sentence Ficathon is going on and might have some good prompts for the ladies. Feel free to link other events in the comments so we can add them!

ETA 1: Star Trek Femslash Drabble exchange.

ETA 2: [community profile] everywoman is likely to run again this year.

Please do not feel constrained by the themes. Anything focusing on women is welcome. You can post your work directly to the comm or as a comment on this post.

I interpreted the reccers prompt literally. Here is the link to the post on my journal, recommending the great Barbara Stanwyck.

I'm not the mod but I am pretty sure that [community profile] everywoman will run again this year.

Is there going to be a specific prompts post, in addition to a daily theme post, this year? If not, maybe I'll do a belated snowflake challenge wish list post in my journal.

No worries. (No pressure either. I'm so far behind with everything in my life that the curve is nowhere in sight.)

(Some qualities of The High Priestess, according to Wikipedia - silence, tenacity, mystery, wisdom, science)

AUTOPSY

Edrisa lifted up the victim's hand, examining the fingers for powder burns, scraping the detritus from beneath the nails and adding it to the evidence collected. She drew a gloved finger across the palm, tracing the lifeline, wondering idly how much longer this man would have lived if he'd been allowed to die a natural death. (Very few of the bodies that she worked on ever died a natural death.) This was the only intimacy that she allowed herself. She lowered the arm and picked up a scalpel. Now was the time for the body to reveal to her its secrets. There was a ritual in this, a series of steps that she never deviated from, she would take her time, working deliberately and methodically, using her scientific knowledge like magic, until she figured out the answer to the mystery of his death.

I have been lax in posting to the comm, though I've been using the tag/collection on AO3 - this was written for Day 1 (and I ended up throwing my own prompts together, or more loose guidelines and random lyrics)
