senmut: Leia looking up in the Hoth suit (Star Wars: Leia)
[personal profile] senmut posting in [community profile] halfamoon
Welcome to [community profile] halfamoon 2021! It's been a decade since our last one, it feels like, but really only a year! Because the world keeps hitting kind of hard, I'm putting up the prompt lists today, with a minor change from previous years. Posting to the comm can begin on February 1st!

In an attempt to engage more creators, there are FOUR separate tables by media content. I don't want anyone to feel constrained though. Any and all content focused on fictional women, living women of note, and historical women of note should be considered more than welcome.

Reccers - Looking for recs to try new material by women we may not have heard of.
Podficcers/Audio Creators - This is for anyone who wants to create or rec podfics, play lists, ASMRs.
Writers - We decided to run with a Tarot theme this year! Use it as broadly or closely as you wish.
Artists - We tried to give a broad swath of ideas for graphic work.

There will be a master list posted on the 15th of all posts received from the 1st to the 14th of February.

I'm debating whether to give this a shot. Short notice and I'm busy, but I did sign up for Ladies' Bingo and I need to get a move on that: https://ladiesbingo.dreamwidth.org/

No problem with projects overlapping both events, right?

As far as the themes, you say that you don't want people feeling constrained, and your intro post says that you can participate as much or as little as you like, so I'm assuming that I could write whatever (focused on canonical female characters) and ignore the themes if I wanted, but I thought I'd double-check that. Are the prompts supposed to be in order, or are they just fourteen possible themes within each category? Could a reclist be 14 different actresses, or a writer's contribution be four variations on the theme of justice? Are they supposed to go up on the day listed, if they do match a theme?

I'm not sure I'd have the time to participate, but I thought I'd ask just in case: do you allow fics in languages other than English (assuming that the fic headers and any comments posted to the comm would still be in English, of course)?

Awesome, thank you! :)

I have another question. I see that the 15th cell of each table contains the word "amnesty". So, when will the amnesty period take place? Or does "amnesty" mean something else within the context of this event?

Got it, thank you. :) And I'm glad you like the icon! I'm no icon maker, but I did make this one and your positive comment about it put a smile on my face. Thank you! :D

I totally missed this announcement (my life what is it) but I will try to post...something...and will (belatedly) publicize it, too.

Does it need to be finished, or is WIP okay?

I've been busy and totally forgot that this was starting, but I'd still like to post something during it. In looking through my WIP, the piece that jumps out is one I'd been planning to post soon-ish, but it's also old (like twenty years old) and long and likely to never be finished. And definitely would not be finished during this event.

It's a Sailor Moon/Ronin Warriors crossover that I wrote back in the day (back when I had a GeoCities account), with a split focus among the (female) SM group, the (male) RW group, and the (male) combined villains of both series. The first scene is a lengthy discussion between two female characters (partly involving one's love life, but that's not the primary focus), and the first chapter is a bunch of short scenes about the other female characters plus two scenes about male characters. I don't exactly recall how the rest of it gets laid out but I think it's mostly an even balance among viewpoints (so maybe 1/3 female).

Would this count for this event?

Ah, so it's the focus of the whole fic that matters, rather than the focus of a specific part? I think I got it.

Hi! Is it okay to post existing works that fit the themes from the tables, and/or works that fit the comm's overall female-centric theme? Or is the challenge only for brand new works?

Also, how do we request the creation of new tags? It looks like my fandoms still do not have their own tags here, hence my question.
