jekesta: Rita from Prisoner, opening shot b&w (Rita)

I did a female character meme during January, and hope it's okay to link to it here.

Most posts are picspams, and there are a couple of vids, one for Cybill/Maryann, and one of Theo, from Jeremiah.

I tried to avoid repeating fandoms, and tried to ignore the women I thought it was most obvious I loved (Janeway, Ivanova, Scully, etc). Some posts are about a character, some are about pairings, and some are about an entire show.

Thirty days of women I love. )

"Did you just gesture at me when you said Kwanzaa?"

Wilhelmina Slater is a former supermodel, resident Botox loving diva and creative director of MODE magazine. Born Wanda Vivian Slater, she's connived and blackmailed her way to the top of the fashion world, aided in her schemes by her assistant Marc St. James who idolizes her villainous ways and refers to her fondly as "Willie." Wilhelmina's greatest adversary is Daniel Meade, current editor in chief at MODE and the youngest son of the late Bradford Meade-founder of Meade Publishing.

Wilhelmina is a villain in every since the word, unapologetically smart, cunning and ruthless. She’s also one of the most entertaining characters I’ve seen in a long, long time.

Like so many people, I planned to write shiny new ficlets for [livejournal.com profile] halfamoon, and then found myself suddenly devoid of inspiration and time. So here are a handful of my fics about female characters whom I have liked or admired for one reason or another.

~

Haruno Sakura (Naruto) -- Five people Sakura punches in the face -- 1712 words
Patience, Sakura decides, is for people who aren't holding lives in the space between their mind and their fingers.

Padma Patil (Harry Potter) -- Healer -- 4506 words
Padma feels crowded with the words that are already scrawled on every inch of her, the power that she alone possesses, and she wonders if this new graffiti of education is overwriting that which already exists.

Lucy Saxon (Doctor Who) -- No Sleepers Must Sleep -- 3513 words
These are the things that Lucy finds infuriating: transparent liquids, vanilla ice cream, slow music, and people who cannot speak Shakespeare correctly.

Elizabeth Weir (Stargate: Atlantis) -- No More To Leave It -- 3275 words
The city and John are so alike: they prefer to negotiate down the barrel of a gun, or at the tip of a knife.

Amanda Tanen (Ugly Betty) -- My Friday Smile -- 1930 words
She’s never had the courage to defy a trend; she wears them too well.

Anastasia 'Dee' Dualla (Battlestar Galactica) -- Set Light To Me Some Surprising Day -- 4491 words
It is a new feeling to be ashamed of the echoes of her own feet, but death does strange things to the people it doesn’t rip apart.

Evey Hammond (V For Vendetta) -- the lights burn blue -- 1078 words
Of the eight hundred and forty-two songs she will allow herself only one per day.

I have a tendency (in het as well as slash, natch) to write in the male POV, but I do have several female POV and female-centric stories to share.

Fandoms include: Prison Break, Doctor Who, FNL, The Office, TBD, BSG, Veronica Mars, Heroes, Ugly Betty and more )

Please feel free to list your own A to Z of women centric fanvids or even adapt this for characters, action vids etc. I'd love to see other people's lists.

this way )

Please Note: I cannot guarantee quality with all of these vids. The challenge was to find them.
