And here we are on the final prompt of the challenge, reflecting on the questions of legacy. Have we learned from those who came before us? Have we done right by those who will follow? Was there a reason our mom was always so weird about that one thing? Today's theme is Generations.

Good day to go get patched up, vaccinated, sequenced, analyzed, poked and prodded. Today's theme: Sickness and Health.

Borders between countries, between species, between life and death. The borders that enclose your world, or the borders of your field that you smashed with your latest experiment. Today's theme can be taken in a very fantastical direction -- or a very timely one.

Creativity is an essential part of life, but creative women are often as underrepresented and disrespected in fiction as they have been in many a history book. This is for the musician, the playwright, the novelist, the actress, the game designer, or the dedicated Starfleet officer who copes with the stress of her job by escaping to her Sherlock Holmes stories on the holodeck. It's for the journalist and essayist, the stand-up comic, the ad writer, the letter-writer, the artistic dissident. Let's hear what they have to say.

This is an expansive one! Galactic hitchhiking, space stations, starfighter pilots, time loops, time travel, astrophysicists, archaeologists, alien life forms, time loops, and who knows what-all. The sky is not, in fact, the limit.

In the absence of any returning DW mods and by popular consensus, we're gonna have [community profile] halfamoon this year but it's gonna be just a little bit last-minute. Here's the plan:

Taking a page from [community profile] snowflake_challenge 's evolving schedule to go a little easier on all of us in The Times, there will be prompt posts every other day over the first two weeks of February. If you want a preview of the 7 upcoming prompts, you can find them at the roundup post from 2018, because that was the easiest place I could find a set of old prompts to rerun.

All the same rules apply as always; you can use the prompts or not, you can create new works and/or rec existing ones of any kind, have fun, tell your friends! :)
