Summary: Rhys doesn't get resurrected, and Jack gets the hell out of Dodge as soon as he hears the TARDIS. Gwen and the team have to start figuring things out on their own. AU from "End of Days," with brief allusions to various things that happen after.

sunnyrea's prompt in the Impromputhon (Torchwood, Gwen, some fic from the time between season 1 & 2 when Jack was gone and she was in charge) reminded me of it, and so I finally posted it. It's probably not quite what

sunnyrea was expecting, but I hope it's interesting enough.
