Buffy Summers, A Timeless Fashion Icon
Buffy’s style evolved through the seven seasons of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” from 90s high school fashion to a more sophisticated look as the series progressed.
Some of her outfits have become iconic and are still remembered (for better or worse) to this day. Buffy’s hairstyle also evolved with the passing of the seasons and the growth of the character; sometimes it’s easy to guess from which season certain images are taken by simply looking at her hair.
Even though her mission as the Slayer often saw her involved in dangerous fights, she always patrolled with style (sometimes, even in skirts and high heels) creating a perfect balance between toughness and femininity.
Leather jackets, miniskirts, knee-high boots, and animal prints are among some of her most memorable items of clothing.
The passing of the seasons mirrored Buffy’s personal growth with some shifts in her wardrobe:
S1 - Youthful Look: Very 90s teen with colorful outfits, miniskirts, knee-high boots, and crop tops.
S2-S3 - Growing Pains Look: Between S2 and S3, Buffy progressively drops the miniskirts and mini dresses, favoring more leather jackets, pants, and even baggy clothes. Colors often tend to be a little darker.
S4 - College Look: The switch to college life comes with a more casual and bohemian approach to fashion. Buffy wears comfy sweaters, stylish tops, long skirts, fitted jeans, and leather jackets. Her look becomes once again more colorful.
S5 - Mature Look: Perhaps this seasons sees Buffy’s fashion at its peak (or it might be that it’s my favorite). Her wavy hairstyle and practical clothing are very stylish and classy even as she shows a more mature and sensible approach to fashion.
S6-S7 - Hardened Look: Long gone are the carefree and youthful outfits from S1. The colors are usually darker, although she goes for clearer hues in the seventh season. She often wears practical denim jackets or coats and tight-fitting pants or long skirts. Her tops become slightly more sophisticated in S7. After the drastic haircut in S6, her hair grows longer again in the final season, often styled in what is probably the greatest variety of hairdos in one single season.

I wanted to make also a big icon set with some of Buffy’s most iconic outfits throughout the seasons, but I’ve been swamped with work all February... I just got some time today to work on the mag cover which was the idea I had since the start.
I’m so bummed I had to miss the entire event.

Between that and my current job my free time could become quite limited.
