Summary: D'Arcy's thoughts on summer & winter
D'Arcy loves summers in Patience. The sky is still blue. The lake is pretty and inviting. It's warmer, but not so warm as to be uncomfortable. She doesn't wear shorts or short skirts though, not because she doesn't want to be checked out, but because she doesn't want men to gape at the surgical scars criss-crossing their way up her legs.
Still, summer is better than winter, the scent of fresh snow calling up memories of times gone by on the mountain, when they all thought she could have it all. Before the accident. Before it all came to a screeching halt. Winter is the season of false promises and could have beens and every year since the accident, she hopes that damned groundhog won't see his shadow and they'll all have an early spring.
