I know there have already been some XF recs, but as far as I'm concerned, there can never be too much Scully. If you're of the same mind, have some more.

[livejournal.com profile] cofax7's The Mill is a sentimental favorite of mine. That is going to give you entirely the wrong impression of the story. (Also, not Scully, but I'm sneaking it in: Too Young to Party: Samantha and Fox Mulder, 1979. Goddamnit.)

Cucumberspy's Telephones, in which Scully makes choices Solomon would flinch at, and lives with them.

Barbara D.'s No Place Like Home still has the world's best explanation for all the inconsistencies in XF canon.

Ebonbird's Gypsy is a quiet and devastating look at Dana's adolescence, particularly strong on the bond between Dana and Melissa.

[livejournal.com profile] hesychasm's Suttee is a furious, bitter Scully/Doggett story, c. S8.

Elanor G.'s Collapse is a post-"all things" casefile that brings the episode more in line with previous XF canon yet respects the emotional impact of the episode.

Rachel Howard's Above Rubies (Gossamer) is a long, satisfying case file that falters a little at the end; but she does such lovely Mulder, Scully, and Krycek voices that it's entirely worth it.

[livejournal.com profile] jetfic's Scully is always strong, wise, and human, but my favorite versions are probably the broken yet unbreakable ones in Night Giving Off Flames and Windows.

Maybe Amanda's Epiphany is a take on Mulder's return (later jossed) that doesn't forget the pain of change.

Michaela's Unnatural Disaster is a long case file for all of us who loved "Never Again" because we were convinced Scully slept with Ed Jerse, not despite it.

Jane Mortimer's A Bitter Taste Upon the Tongue is a perfect dark chocolate truffle for those who like bitter romance. Another take on the same trope, almost as good, is Suricata's Betrayal.

MustangSally's Divine Image (Gossamer) is my favorite Orison post-ep because sometimes I am callous and strange.

Pteropod's Moment of Inertia is especially good at showing Scully as a scientist; even when she's not working, science informs her metaphors and the selection of her memories.

Revely's Unfinished Universe is a jossed take on Season 8, happier and saner than Chris Carter ever could have managed.

It's hard to pick just one of [livejournal.com profile] rivkat's stories, but I will go with Fugue because I have a weakness for amnesia.

Thank you for posting these recs. I love "Fugue" and "Above Rubies" is one of my favorite XF stories. There are some stories here I haven't read (JOY!) so I will book mark this now.

This is kind of OT, but do you know why [livejournal.com profile] hesychasm has taken down all of her XF stories? Now that I know she is on LJ, maybe I should just go ask her?

Wow, this is really like time travel, going back to read X-Files fan fiction again (some of it in plain text at GeoCities) like it was still ten years ago. It's a strange feeling, sliding back into that.

Whee! Thank you!

And such great favorites here -- both stories and writers.
