Cersei held her head high as they chopped off her hair. She'd made her confession to the High Sparrow and would follow his steps to get what she wanted. She was still the Queen Mother after all. Her subjects would allow her to pass through safely. She hadn't counted on being stripped naked. She was without armor, brought down to size. The guards that surrounded her were not her own. The people could see her as she was.

The High Sparrow hadn't called her “Queen” before them, hadn't acknowledged her position at all and given her the respect she was owed. He'd labeled her a sinner and had that damnable Septa of his walk in her wake, fully clothed, ringing a bell and chanting “Shame”.

Cersei kept her head up as people threw things at her, spat at her, and shouted terrible things at her. These peasants thought they were better than her. Perhaps at the moment, they were better off. She would remember this moment, these people trying to cut her down to their level. More importantly, she'd remember those that set this into motion.

Once she was free, she'd deal with them. She'd take them apart, piece by piece and enjoy every moment of it.
