As a first-timer here in the comm, I went a bit overboard with the idea of presenting not only my favourite characters from Warrior Nun, Jillian Salvius and Mother Superion, but also the ship that they form together since they are each associated with white, black and, I'd argue, with grey as well (and I hope to have tagged things right since it's a bit of a hybrid post!)
It's HERE at my journal.

Date: 2024-02-02 04:24 am (UTC)Loved the meta/manifesto and if I ever get the chance to see Warrior Nun, I have no doubt they'd probably be the first two characters I'd ship (especially if canon doesn't allow it).
Tagging looks good. Welcome aboard!

Date: 2024-02-02 02:35 pm (UTC)Funny thing is that I wasn't there for fandom when only season one was available, but I've heard it said that there were some people shipping these two already despite their lack of interaction in that first batch of episodes. The potential is all there, it seems! So when s2 comes around and we're fed with some crumbs (and they are, I must regretfully say so, crumbs, as delicious as they are) it all just falls into place, at least to me.
And thanks! I don't think I'd be here if you hadn't pointed the comm out to me! <3

Date: 2024-02-05 01:30 am (UTC)And yeah, I saw people mention it somewhere and if you go to the beginning of the Jillian/Suzanne AO3 tag you'll see that the first fics for them (as few as they are) are from 2020! Which, honestly, good for them -- true visionaries who paved the way, haha.
It's funny you should mention this what-if scenario because just yesterday
Totally get you with shipping all the women -- what startles me is how this fandom doesn't! Sure, there are a few outliers here and there, but it seems like multishippers or rarepair shippers are the rarest of the rare WN fans. With so many amazing women in this show, you'd think it would be a banquet and yet... Oh, well. Their loss, I suppose! After all, I can only agree about Jillian and Suzanne being special :)

Date: 2024-02-05 05:36 am (UTC)Also, on that note, I am doing my best to provide the content I want to see, the longfic I'm writing right now is very much a multishipper one with Camila/everyone as premise. Camila/Suzanne is pretty prominent (that tag did not exist at all before I made it, lol). Still musing whether to tag doctor superion though, they are there, but in like one chapter of about 30. It doesn't feel right to tag them if they're not prominent. I know you've talked about the overtagging and leading on, especially for rare pairs, so I don't want to do that. I will see. Maybe I'll make more mentions of them to have them be more prominent throughout (currently they mostly have some soft scenes and one where they dance together and them sleeping together is mentioned).

Date: 2024-02-06 12:29 am (UTC)Words to live by. I'm also of the "if you build it they will come" philosophy (even if "they" equates to three other people total, lol). And I'd be astonished at your inaugurating Cam/Superion if I hadn't gone through it with Ava/Cam already... Good luck with it and with having everyone else as well in it, haha. That's certainly a different premise than what we usually see floating around the fandom and I commend you for it already.
As for doctor superion and tagging it or not, I think the usual question helps: will a primarily doctor superion shipper be happy to see it or is it too little for them to enjoy? If the answer is yes, tag. If the answer is no, tag with minor/implied/mentioned or whatever word better suits the situation so they'll know what they're getting into and not feel cheated. Trust your sensibility! :)

Date: 2024-02-02 02:53 pm (UTC)I liked season 1. Thank you for the reminder that there is a season 2 and that I should probably go watch it :D

Date: 2024-02-02 02:59 pm (UTC)The consensus seems to be that season two is a fantastic development from season one, so I highly recommend it! I liked s1, but it was s2 that made me into a hardcore fan. It's not perfect by any means, of course, but it's pretty fun and it shakes things up a bit.
