Guys, what's up with halfamoon this year? It's so very, very quiet... Anyway, to breathe a bit of life into this community, I decided to come up with the ever popular Unpopular Woman Love Post.







I simply nicked the rules from bofoddity's fabulous post in 2011:

1. Start a thread and put the character's name and the canon they come from in the subject line.

2. Those who love the character comment on the thread with squee, thoughts, fic/art/vid recs, picspams, essays, links and everything they can think of. Make sure your character gets all the love and the attention she deserves.

3. If a character has a thread and you want to talk about her, comment to the thread in question. General comments and threads for new characters go to the main post.

4. Focus on the love. This is an all positivity, all time post. Embrace your happy!

5. Absolutely no bashing allowed. Please avoid making negative comparisons to other characters, other character types and "well this character sucks more!" kind of comments as well as disparaging remarks about actresses or other versions of the same character. Those characters, character types, and actresses have their fans too and hey, it's a love post. Save negativity for other things.

In other words, this post is all about celebrating and loving our favorite unloved women. Now, love away!

I must admit that my feelings on Cersei are complicated and a bit messed up (so I feel they reflect her character pretty well :P), but those chapters in ADWD made me feel so defensive of her. Tamed and broken, my ass.

Ignoring the quote because I am still reading ADWD but Cersei is the greatest and haters are stupid. Also why are her chapters all the way at the end (I know why but EVERY TIME I end a chapter I hope she's next - or Jaime - and she NEVER IS. Bah)

Cersei is every woman that every man wants to be. That's the reason they hate her so much. Fuck 'em all. I loves me some Cersei.

Cersei is perfect. She's lived her whole life seeing everything she wanted stolen away from her until she decided they wouldn't do it anymore. Now she tries so hard to get back everything she (feels she) deserves but Westeros is a place who has no place for women except the part they're supposed to play and no matter what she does it's wrong and no one (not Westeros, not her father, not even Jaime) lets her exist as who she wants to be ; but it doesn't matter because she is a lioness and she will not cringe for them AND HAIR GROWS BACK.

And Cersei is fierce and survives and fights and she isn't scared of any of them and she doesn't pretend to be anything else than who she is and i don't know what to say because as usual i'm overwhelmed with love so i should shut up probably but Cersei is flawless and I feel deeply sorry for the people who write her off as the one-dimensional evil person who is horrible because she wants to be, and who fail to see what's behind.

I love Cersei because she decided her freedom belonged to her and to her only, because she's aware of the world she lives in and knows she isn't allowed anything ever and knows she has to fight for it, constantly and fighting is all she ever does and it's stunning and i will always love her.

I have so much love an respect for Cersei. She is fabulous and amazing and so, so strong. Her family is the most important thing to her and her own integrity is second. I just find her to be such a tough spirit and no matter what happens to her, she rises triumphant. Some call her a villain, evil, but I say that she takes things to the extreme in order to protect the things she esteems most extremely. She is and always will be my flawless lion queen. I'm still on the first pages of the first book but but from what I have seen on the show I think she's strong. Is she my favorite? No.But That's why I like her. She makes me feel things. I can be like you have disgusted me right now Cersei but you are wonderful and strong as hell. I love you for that. I love and long for more cunning strong women who can cut you with a single glance. She's one of those women just like Catherine Stark.

i have so many cersei feelings idk where to put them anymore so instead of writing a ten thousand word essay on why cersei lannister should rock your world and giving examples from every book, i'm just going to talk about cersei ii for a minute here.

SPOILERS FOR A DANCE WITH DRAGONS

Say what you want about Cersei--and believe me, anyone who's seen her character tag on tumblr would agree that they really fucking do--but you can't deny she's strong. Cersei Lannister walked naked through the streets of Kings Landing. Cersei Lannister would not cringe for them. Cersei Lannister would not stumble. Cersei Lannister would not beg.

They tried to take her dignity. They cut off her beautiful golden Lannister hair. They thought they would break her spirit and that she would be ashamed.

Bullshit. Hair grows back.
