amaresu: Sapphire and Steel from the opening (sttrinians-tryandstopus)
[personal profile] amaresu posting in [community profile] halfamoon
St. Trinian's is a film that came out in the UK in 2007. It's actually the sixth film to take place at St. Trinian's School for Young Ladies, but this is a reboot of the franchise. St Trinian's is made of awesome and more awesome. Also it is kinda cheesy, but in an awesome way.

Basic plot summary: To keep the bank from repossessing the school the student body comes up with a plan to steal the 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' painting so they can sell it and pay off the creditors.

You'll find Miss Fritton along for the ride offering support and advice, but without stifling the girls creativity.

St. Trinian's has, like most places with a diverse group of individuals, created a number of social groups among the students.

These can roughly be broken down into:

Now of course not everybody fits into these groups, but as long as a girl is confident in herself she'll find a place at St. Trinian's.

and once they've settled she'll do her best to help them fit in.

The girls of St. Trinian's are well known for their ingenuity and good business sense. The local connection to the "underground" business world is Flash.

Whether it's finding a venue for the First Year's vodka distillery or learning the ins and outs of alternative business practices, Flash can you help out.

Yes, at St. Trinian's you'll find all sorts of projects and activities going on. Regardless of personal differences though the girls always make a point to support each other.

I love St Trinians. I wrote a rec for it myself for another comm actually, quite recently (not sure if it's been posted yet).

I've never read any fanfic for it though (or seen any icons) - hope your pimping leads to some! :)

I still haven't seen that, due to my aversion to remakes, but I really need to.

I saw the DVD for this in a cheap bin at Walmart but couldn't convince my friend to buy. I ended up watching it on SurftheChannel a week ago and kind of loved it. Enough that I want to see the sequel. And fic for it.

Ok, I downloaded this last night because I had heard about it before and it seemed right up my alley, and I can now unequivocally say that this is my NEW FAVORITE MOVIE. OMG, I loved it, it was brill! My roommates probably think I'm nuts now because I was jumping up and down and screaming and laughing and booing and- well, I've never gotten that emotionally involved with a film before.

THANK YOU for posting this, thank you so much. Now I just need to track down the supposed sequel... *scrounges*

I loved the originals when I was about six and was very disappointed when my mother said that the school did not actually exist.

Snagged the download; thank you for uploading :)
