[Fic Recs] Because Gaila is awesome! (Star Trek XI)

I’ve been obsessed with Star Tex XI for the past three weeks today so I am going to hook you up with two of my favorite Nyota and Gaila fic. Because Gaila is awesome and these stories show how, and Nyota is terrific, and she shines!

Lunch and Other Obscenities  by rheanna27 
Author’s Summary: Nyota liked her roommate just fine until she met her.
Academy story about Nyota and Gaila’s first year with sex, food, and culture clashes. This is what fanfic was made for and I’m going to quote the reccer whom I got this from - Why Are You Not Already Reading This?!

You’re Going to Make it After All  by igrockspock 
Author’s Summary: Two indecent exposure citations, one best friend, one amazing sex partner, one unexpected mentor, and a Starfleet-funded study of intercultural sexual norms. Sounds like a normal academic year for Gaila.

Author’s Summary: She takes freedom wherever she can find it, in notebooks begged from clients, stolen ink pens, and pictures of the stars
This story is simply gorgeous and a little heartbreaking and a lot triumphant.
