A bunch of awesome ladies from American cartooning. This...will probably push a lot of nostalgia buttons.

The Powerpuff Girls - Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup - seem to lend themselves to being redrawn in awesome ways. Like as flappers. Or as secret agents.

(I tend to ship odd pairings in this series. Like Bubbles and Princess, or Blossom and Miss Bellum.)

Remember Calvin and Hobbes? Remember Susie Derkins? So do we.

(I'm not quite sure how Buttercup met Calvin, but destruction is inevitable.)

I always kind of wished Animaniacs' Slappy Squirrel was my aunt.

And then there's Cindy Lou Who, who rocked the Grinch's world. (...I think I maybe ship it.)

Futurama is totally worth watching for Turanga Leela alone.

Carmen Sandiego may be a bad guy, but she does it in style. Turns out somebody ships her with Alucard. Me, I'm thinking Waldo. (Obligatory plug for [livejournal.com profile] where_inthewrld, which features shippy goodness and many screenshots of Carmen being cooler than you.)

Madeline was another tough kid. You just know she grew up to be a secret agent.

Krazy Kat is another of those androgynous characters (referred to variantly as "he" and "she" by the narration), and the series is gorgeous, so I'm going to sneak in a plug anyway.

One more post to come, this one for just plain Serious Miscellaney...
