Summary: Brienne on the battlefield. Set during "The Long Night"
Brienne's arms felt like lead, but still she fought on. There was no thought of stopping, because to stop would mean that the Army of the Dead had won.
She thought of the promise she'd made to Catelyn Stark, that she would keep both of her daughters safe. She knew that Arya could take care of herself, she'd proven herself more than capable when they'd sparred, more capable than half of these young men pressed into an action that they probably wouldn't survive.
When the battle was done, when the battle was won, she'd wail at the injustice of it all. Now was no time for tears, now was the time to fight, because no one was coming to save them.
She raised her sword and readied herself for another attack.
