Title: A Sea of Why
Fandom: Life
Character: Dani Reese
Rating: G
Summary: Sometimes the things that should be black and white aren't
In order to do her job properly as a cop, when making an arrest, Dani had been taught to see everything in black and white. Leave all the shades of gray and mitigating circumstances to the lawyers and judges. Do her job by the book, get the perp, and be on the right side of justice.
She'd done a lot in her life, a lot that she wasn't proud of, but being a “dirty” cop wasn't one of them. She thought she knew her father, the man whose example she'd tried to follow when she signed up for the police force, but now, she has questions. One question really, that threatens to turn the black and white reality of their relationship into something messy.
It's the question- did he knowingly send an innocent man to jail?- that has her vision of her father, that right, upstanding, by-the-book cop, drowning in a sea of "why?" in various shades of gray.
