I don't mind the violence at all, oddly enough. I guess falling for the boys in Supernatural got me to where I didn't mind violence, but they had me hooked on the characters before I ever got into the scenes that were so violent that they would have conflicted me previously.
Hmm. There's a thought: watch it, fast forwarding, until I can get hooked on the characters, then try again to watch it with him.
