Because with her everything is under the surface. Her emotions are buried so deep she doesn't even seem to understand them, yet she tries to. Because she's been held on pedestal so long that she has hard time operating out of it and thinking for herself, yet she knows there's more to life than that and she wants that more. Because she's learning to stand up for herself and to demand respect and love she deserves. She's flawed to the bone, but she's growing all the time and it's wonderful to watch. Betty is the main reason I watch Mad Men.
