Full House--no, not the one you're thinking of!--is a Korean drama about a couple named Han Ji Eun and Lee Young Jae. He's a superstar actor with poor impulse control and a clean-streak a mile wide, and she's an internet novelist who gets swindled out of her life's savings by her best friends.

Due to certain circumstances, Ji Eun and Young Jae end up in a contract marriage. Naturally, they can't stand one another. Of course, they end up falling in love.

The OTP is adorable, but I'm not here to talk about that. I'm here to squee about Ji Eun. She is occasionally childish, sometimes dramatic, and isn't above lying for a good cause. She also has a warm and compassionate heart, and refuses to fold down and give up in the face of some seriously unpleasant circumstances.

Also: she will headbutt you in the face if you mess with her. My girl is fierce. ♥

Ji Eun is so badass she can chase you through an entire city in high-heeled sandals.

Unfortunately, creative genius doesn't bring in the cash. Ji Eun likes money!

Money is useful for buying back her family home. Meanwhile, Ji Eun spends her time cleaning for Mr. Neat Freak Superstar.

Ji Eun is more than capable of holding her own against Young Jae.

. . . or loses a game of strip chicken.

Ji Eun doesn't wallow in defeat. She prefers basking in victory.

Ji Eun's likes: food.

But her main passion remains writing.

She also enjoys teasing him with ghost stories. Poor Young Jae! Ji Eun is just too awesome for him to wrap his head around :(

It's a good thing Ji Eun remains so modest.

Sometimes Ji Eun loses patience with her fake-husband.

But that's okay! A good song will cheer her up in no time!

Falling in love with her fake husband makes Ji Eun sad. Young Jae is kind of a dumbass; I'd be sad, too!

Ji Eun takes good care of herself.

Self-confidence is a vital ingredient in making a dorky fake husband squirm.

Ji Eun does not think turnabout is fair play.

Ji Eun is tiny, but fast.

In conclusion: Ji Eun = awesome.

FH can be a bit crazymaking at times, but I love Ji Eun and Young Jae *so much.*

*grins* Great, at least I know where to look. :) I've only seen a couple of kdramas so far and I tend to be wary of the 'so angsty it will shred your soul' repuatation they seem to have. :/

The angst factor depends on the drama, but it is true that most kdramas do enjoy their angst. Full House hits the romantic angst midway through, but ends very happily. There are other dramas that get the "rocks fall, everybody dies" treatment.

That is why I adore spoilers in kdrama fandoms! *g*

*grins* I keep meaning to watch Legend sometime and yet am very wary of it ending up 'rocks fall, everyone dies'. The only kdramas I've seen have had positive endings which... I guess is making me paranoid. Like an angsty one is just going sneak up and ambush me when I least expect it. Like killing off my favourite character. :/

I keep on hearing people talk about surprise!cancer in kdramas, but haven't run into it yet, myself. Like you, I'm a bit paranoid about angsty endings. I don't mind a "rocks falls" ending, so long as I know what I'm getting into.

There are people on my flist who are madly in love with various historical kdramas (Legend, Chuno), but I've heard death and destruction are pretty common endings in those types of series.

But they're so pretty, and female warriors. . . ! It's a dilemma.

*nods* If I know what I'm getting into it's not so bad but when it comes out of nowhere? Do not want. :/

Yeah, this is probably why I have yet to actually watch Legend, despite having it burned onto disc and everything. *sighs* And yet... I've heard good things about the women in it and it looks really pretty and... I'm torn. :(

Ji Eun is made of awesome. I'm rewatching the series right now, and am in love with her character all over again. ♥

I confess that when I was watching this, I was rooting for Rival. Oh, K-dramas and the love polygons.

Nevertheless, she's awesome! ^_^

I like Ji Eun and Young Jae's slowly evolving relationship a lot, but there were definitely times I want to smack him in the head. Secondary Guy is so mature and honest about his feelings for Ji Eun; it's a nice change from Young Jae's petulant "clean the house!"

sheldon_penny peeps introduced me to this show, and I absolutely loved it. I loved that Ji Eun matured so much by the end and got her own career and all. So adorable and funny. :D

I'm glad to have found another fan of the series! I think it's one that people are pretty much divided on: either you love it, or you really don't.

Ji Eun really does grow into a strong, confident woman by the end.

Full House gets mocked frequently, but it's totally worth watching for Ji Eun. She's funny *and* gorgeous.
